In an effort to promote energy education, API-Delta and SPE-Delta pooled resources to host a teacher workshop in Oil and Natural Gas Education. Teachers from the Greater New Orleans area spent a week of their summer vacation attending the Denver Earth Science Project Workshop developed by the Colorado School of Mines.
The Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair (GNOSEF) was held on February 23rd at the UNO Human Performance Center. API judged the Senior Division of the Energy Category. The winners and their teachers were recognized and presented awards on February 24th.
API – Delta Chapter recently announced the winners for its 2011/2012 scholarship awards. The goal of the API – Delta Chapter scholarship program is to help students of exceptional promise reach their full potential through education.
On Saturday, August 21, 2010, API and SPE coordinated the FETCH Saturday at the Louisiana Children's Museum. This event had 15 exhibits hosted by 9 different societies highlighting science and math principles.

Once again petroleum industry societies pooled their efforts to educate the community on various aspects of the petroleum industry, its jobs, the importance of the industry and its products in everyday living.
Once again, API - Delta participated as a Gold Sponsor for the FIRST LEGO League and Junior FIRST Lego League competitions. This year the Louisiana championship tournament was held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Dominican High School.
