"The Tuscaloosa and Haynesville Shale
Plays"
"By the end of the decade, North America will become a "titan of
unprecedented proportions" when it comes to exporting refined
petroleum products, according to a new report from the
International Energy Agency (IEA)." Oil and gas shale plays
are a huge contributor to this and a hot topic in the industry
right now. We have two right here in our backyard - The
Tuscaloosa Marine Shale, as well as the Haynesville Shale in the
North Louisiana.
Key Note Speaker:
Charlotte Batson, a petroleum engineer that is considered an
international expert on shale oil and gas exploration and
development, will be the keynote speaker for the technical meeting
to be held at 11:30am, August 12th at Le Pavillon Hotel in New
Orleans. She will give insights to the two shale plays in our
area including: production estimates, economic impacts and an
overview of the technology surrounding drilling in shale
plays.
Please join us for an informative lunch presentation and
networking opportunities. Charlotte serves on the Advisory
Council for the Trent Lott National Center for Economic Development
and Entrepreneurship, has served as a contract Influencer in the
Future of Energy by Shell Group on LinkedIn, and was appointed in
2009 to the Mississippi Energy Policy Institute (MEPI) by Gov.
Haley Barbour. Ms. Batson is available for consultation to private
and public sector organizations wishing to benefit economically
from shale oil and gas development. She is frequently requested to
speak on shale-related topics, and is a regular contributor to the
"Energy Matters" radio show on KFYR AM 550. Recent speaking
engagements include the Transfield Worley Leading Practice Forum
(TW LPF) 2013 in Brisbane and the 4th Shale Gas Southern Africa
