Petroleum Industry Promoting Education (PIPE)

...a collaborative effort among the petroleum industry societies, corporations and the education community. A sub-committee, whereby societies and corporations pool their efforts and inform the teachers and schools about the resources available within the industry to help with education, in particular, energy education. Resources include the various scholarships and grants offered by organizations, various awards such as those given at GNOSEF, as well as educational materials such as D&D activity books, SPE’s magic suitcase, NOGS fossils and rock collection, etc.

FETCH 2010

On Saturday, August 21, 2010, API and SPE coordinated the FETCH Saturday at the Louisiana Children's Museum. This event had 15 exhibits hosted by 9 different societies highlighting science and math principles.. read more

2007 BLaST Competition

API, along with other industry societes participating with PIPE, sponsored the 2007 BLaST competition. The event was held at J. D. Meisler school in Metairie. The competition consisted of teamwork presentation, design presentation, research presentation and actual robot challenge. Click here to read more

Geo-Science based Monitoring of Flood Protection Levees:
See attached presentation on the Levee failure prevention project. The updated work was presented to Chalmette city commission. Without API Delta support this project would not have taken off the ground as fast. Note the last slide regarding goals for the coming year
