Once again petroleum industry societies pooled their efforts to educate the community on various aspects of the petroleum industry, its jobs, the importance of the industry and its products in everyday living. Under the umbrella name of PIPE (Petroleum Industry Promoting Education) energy industry societies sponsored the Louisiana Children’s Museum’s (LCM) FETCH Oil and Energy Saturday on August 16, 2008. Over 690 visitors participated in the event. Children of all ages found the demonstrations and lectures interesting.
Organizations provided exhibits about the industry and how their particular discipline relates to oil and gas production. Children of all ages learned about the many every day products that are a result of the petroleum industry. In addition, societies provided lectures, demonstrations and games to help introduce people to the various aspects of the petroleum industry.
