(ORDINARY DECKHAND) SEAMAN

JOB TITLE: (ORDINARY DECKHAND) SEAMAN
JOB DESCRIPTION: Assist other deckhands in general up keep and maintenance of various vessels. Assist in mooring up and unmooring. Stand wheel watches as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School education required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Minimum age - 18 yrs. Applicant must be able to pass routine physical examination in accordance with company standards, secure seamen's documents, and be willing to work away from home 7 days one, 7 days off - in some cases 10/7 or 14/7.
ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES: Promotions are obtained through Coast Guard examination requiring specified sea time.
SALARY RANGE: $5.00/hr.

Announcements

The API Delta Chapter Board of Directors have approved a donation to a joint LSU-UNO levee monitoring project in the amount of $7500. The API Delta Chapter supports this project to predict and prevent levee failures. We also support the joint LSU -UNO collaboration and training of students in the use of state-of-the-art Near Surface Geophysics technologies. The API Delta Chapter joins our sister societies in support of this worthy project. Information on the Levee Monitoring Project can be obtained in the accompanying presentation.
