FLOORHAND (DRILLING)


JOB TITLE: FLOORHAND (DRILLING)
JOB DESCRIPTION: Under close supervision of the Driller, performs a variety of floor duties in the operation and maintenance of a drilling rig.

1. Operates lead and backup tongs.
2. Racks, leads out, and stabs pipe.
3. Sets slips and latches and unlatches elevators.
4. Cleans and lubricates pipe and joint threads.
5. Cleans work areas and maintains such in an orderly and safe condition.
6. Measures and tallies pipe.
7. May perform other duties as directed by the Driller which include, but are not limited to:

a. Installs and removes blowout Preventors.
b. Repairs and maintains rig equipment.
c. Lubricates rig equipment.
d. Loads and unloads rig equipment.
e. Rolls and moves pipe to form the rig floor.
f. Assembles and disassembles tools.
g. Assists in rigging up, tearing down, and moving activities.
h. Assists in cementing, testing, bailing, and swabbing operations.

8. Performs the primary thinking called for and encompassed by this overall Job Definition.
9. Performs other related duties as may be required at the direction of the immediate supervisor.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School education required
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES: Progress to Field Maintenance positions and other positions.
SALARY RANGE: $1000.00 up monthly
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
