DRAFTER/DESIGNER

JOB TITLE:	DRAFTER/DESIGNER
JOB DESCRIPTION:	Works with Engineer's design specifications to prepare actual drawings of a variety of mechanical, structural, or electrical designs. Calculates dimensions and weights of different components according to design specifications. Modifies drawings as necessary to meet requirements provided by engineer. Consulting with the Engineer on a daily basis.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:	High School education required and six month course in drafting/ industrial arts required for entry level position. Computer proficiency required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:	Knowledge of engineering terms helpful. A good math aptitude also necessary. Will work with computer CAD programs to draft the assignment. May also be required to specify and cost materials based on engineers' instructions.
ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES:	May be Promoted to Supervisory Position.
SALARY RANGE:	$900.00 up monthly

Geo-Science based Monitoring of Flood Protection Levees:
See attached presentation on the Levee failure prevention project. The updated work was presented to Chalmette city commission. Without API Delta support this project would not have taken off the ground as fast. Note the last slide regarding goals for the coming year
