INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER

JOB TITLE: INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER
JOB DESCRIPTION: To design automation and measurement system for oil, gas, and chemical facilities, or marine construction equipment such as derrick barges, lay barges, jet barges, dredges, tugs, and similar vessels.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: B.S. in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Register Professional/Charter Engineer
ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES: Through various levels of instrumentation engineer.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is related to the preparation of cost estimates covering electrical, thermal, and mechanical instruments, performance of instrument engineering calculations, preparation of specifications proving instrument engineering technical direction to drafting departing.

Announcements

The API Delta Chapter Board of Directors have approved a donation to a joint LSU-UNO levee monitoring project in the amount of $7500. The API Delta Chapter supports this project to predict and prevent levee failures. We also support the joint LSU -UNO collaboration and training of students in the use of state-of-the-art Near Surface Geophysics technologies. The API Delta Chapter joins our sister societies in support of this worthy project. Information on the Levee Monitoring Project can be obtained in the accompanying presentation.
