On Tuesday, March 22, 2011, Mr. Michael R. Bromwich (Director - BOEMRE) addressed the 2010 Meritorious Awards Luncheon.
The API Delta Chapter Board of Directors have approved a donation to a joint LSU-UNO levee monitoring project in the amount of $7500. The API Delta Chapter supports this project to predict and prevent levee failures. We also support the joint LSU -UNO collaboration and training of students in the use of state-of-the-art Near Surface Geophysics technologies. The API Delta Chapter joins our sister societies in support of this worthy project. Information on the Levee Monitoring Project can be obtained in the accompanying presentation.
The Delta Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute recently hosted its annual joint society luncheon along with 21 other Representatives from energy related organizations at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans. The sold out event was a huge success in part to the key note speaker, Mr. Randall Luthie, President of the National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA).

API Delta Chapter held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on May 14, 2009 at The Lake House on the lakefront in Mandeville. Over 25 volunteers and their spouses enjoyed the evening of food, fun and fellowship in the quaint setting of this historical lakefront building. The event is held to honor volunteers who graciously give of their time and energy to support API Delta Chapter’s various activities and programs. This is the Chapter’s way of saying “thank you” to those individuals who selflessly serve the efforts of the API Delta Chapter.

The API Technical Luncheon was held on August 19th, despite the torrential rains that day, at the Le Pavillon Hotel with Mr. Allen Brooks as the guest speaker. His speech, “Dynamics of the Energy Market – Up, Down or Sideways” was very enlightening since we’ve seen the highest oil prices ever over the last year at $140 per barrel and presently near the $100 range. >> read more
